Dr. Scott M. Levin is a board-certified orthopedic surgeon practicing at Somers Orthopaedics. Patients can find him at Somers Orthopaedics locations in Mount Kisco, Carmel, and Danbury. He is proud to provide care to patients at the practice’s locations in Mount Kisco, Fishkill, Newburgh, and Carmel, New York, and Danbury, Connecticut.
Dr. Levin earned his Bachelor of Science in Biology from Pennsylvania State University before completing his Doctor of Medicine at Temple University. He then pursued a residency in orthopedic surgery at Stony Brook University in New York, where he was named Administrative Chief Resident in his final year. He further specialized with a sports medicine fellowship at Lenox Hill Hospital in New York, gaining advanced training in the evaluation and minimally invasive treatment of sports-related injuries.
During his fellowship at Lenox Hill, Dr. Levin worked closely with professional and collegiate athletes, serving as an assistant team physician for the New York Jets, the New York Islanders, Hofstra University, and Hunter College. He continues to support athletes at all levels, currently serving as team physician for Horace Greeley and Somers High Schools, and as assistant team physician for Pace University.
Dr. Levin treats both elite athletes and active individuals of all ages, using a team-centered approach to guide patients back to peak performance. He has extensive experience in non-operative and surgical management of shoulder, elbow, hip, and knee conditions, with a focus on minimally invasive arthroscopic techniques. He is one of the few specialists in Westchester County and the Hudson Valley with a dedicated clinical interest in hip arthroscopy, treating complex conditions such as labral tears and femoroacetabular impingement using advanced methods.
In addition to surgical care, Dr. Levin offers in-office ultrasound-guided procedures, including regenerative therapies such as platelet-rich plasma (PRP) and stem cell injections. He is also a published author of several research articles and book chapters on orthopedic procedures.
Widely recognized for his excellence in care, Dr. Levin has been consistently named a Castle Connolly Top Doctor and has been featured in Hudson Valley Magazine’s Top Doctors issue in 2017, 2018, 2019, 2020, 2022, and 2023.
